Massimiliano Solazzi (Eng., Ph.D.) is Assistant Professor of Applied Mecnhanics at Scuola Superiore Sant’Anna, Pisa (Italy). He carries out his research at the Perceptual Robotics laboratory (PERCRO) of the Institute of Communication, Information and Perception Technologies (TeCIP). In 2010 he received the PhD Degree in Innovative Technologies, curriculum Perceptual Robotics, at the Scuola Superiore Sant‟Anna. In 2005 he received the MSc in Industrial Engineering at the Scuola Superiore Sant‟Anna and the MSc in Mechanical Engineering at the University of Pisa. In 2002 he obtained the Bachelor‟s Degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Pisa. During his studies he carried out a stage at the Center for Studies and Research Technology CEIT, San Sebastin, Spain in 2005 and visited the Mechanical Department of the University of Utah, HEML Laboratory, Salt Lake City, USA in 2008. His research interests concern: the design of robotic interfaces for virtual reality, teleoperation and rehabilitation assisted by robots, the kinematic, static and dynamic analysis and optimization of parallel mechanisms, the development of control systems for manipulators, and the psychophysical validation of human-machine interfaces. Massimiliano Solazzi has collaborated in numerous research projects both nationally and internationally. Currently he is carrying out research activities within the European projects EU ICT FP7 WearHap and EU ICT H2020 Centauro.
